Tactical diversity in World of Warships comes from the inclusion of many different classes of warships, including: aircraft carriers, capable of providing remote air support and striking targets at extreme range colossal battleships that project power across vast swaths of ocean light and heavy cruisers with the capability to quickly respond to changing battlefield conditions and stealthy, agile destroyers which can be highly effective in group attacks. Sudden ambushes, cunning flanking attacks, open confrontation and "head-on" assaults - captains must strive to find an ideal way to deliver a decisive blow at the enemy. In order to achieve victory in battle, players must employ a wide range of strategies in a variety of tactical decisions. Epic battles rage across the oceans of the world in order to claim victory among teams comprised of the greatest representatives from the era of multi-ton marine giants. I understand how it's guns work but I've never really enjoyed using them.More: Changelogs World of Warships World of Warships is a naval action MMO, dipping into the world of large-scale sea battles of the first half of the twentieth century. If NC had better guns (accuracy and shell flight) it would probably be OP as it's almost the perfect BB otherwise. I can see arguments favouring either ship as NC is a far smaller profile. Though the Montana represents modest improvements over the Iowa, tier for tier, the Iowa is easily the better vessel and more than a few USN Captains have opted to keep the tier 9 ship rather than graduate to tier 10. Iowa's armour patter feels exactly the same as the NC to me, both will bounce most stuff off their bow. In addition, she loses out on speed being three knots slower than the Iowa. With the Iowa (being a t9 ship), it's much more harder. In addition with the NC you can make quite a lot of cash. Oh yeah and I've sold my Iowa to get the montana, but I have kept the NC. I'd say the armor is also weaker, not meaning the stats, but for example a north carolina is almost invulnerable to frontal assaults, while with the Iowa you can get easy get some shells inside your superstructure. While the model sorta looks like a Iowa wannabe so to speak, no matter what I or anyone else does, I dont think the final true configuration of the Montana. NC is prolly the best AA battleship for it's tier.Īs peeps said, it's like 30% or so larger than the NC, which makes it an attractive target. I found the AA weaker vs t9 CVs than North Carolina's vs t8 CVs. It has more accurate guns, better trajectory. Iowa is less tanky, goes fast, however you're unlikely to go at full speed too often, it accelerates somewhat crappy too (but hey it's a battleship). Ultimate cruiser killer, very good US battleship and Tirpitz killer, and if a Yamato is ever unfortunate enough to show her side to you you can smack her harder than she could retaliate against you ever. Nothing makes a cruiser craphimself more than suddenly seeing you pop up under 14km from him and nine 16-inch guns pointing at him!Īs for Montana, all I can tell you is that as long as you are not a wuss who is too cheap to pay repair bills at T10, she's worth it. Before i research and use 20 million credits on it. And yes, both battleships can benefit a lot from getting Concealment Expert and generally lowering their visibility range as much as possible. Ordered at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York City, she was laid down on 27 June 1940, launched on 27 August 1942, and commissioned into service. ![]() USS Iowa was the lead ship of the Iowa-class battleships. Roosevelt to the Tehran Conference of 1943. ![]() Which means you're a juicy citadel fest for any battleships you come up against, or a big floating ship made out of bonfire material for enemy cruisers to burn.ĪA wise there's really not much difference between the two ships. Iowa was, therefore, the ideal choice when selecting which ship should ferry President Franklin D. Iowa has longer 16-inch guns which help with range and accuracy but her hull is HUGE compared to the North Carolina. North Carolina is my Queen of the fleet, and I love her to bits even more than I love my Iowa.
